Suitability Analysis based on GIS and AHP for Urban Development Projects

As urban areas grow, it is essential to recognize that natural on the city's periphery are becoming more vulnerable disruption. Adopting an approach balances protection and usage without harming environment ensure development projects produced sustainably. This requires a thorough analysis of factors related planning area, which best achieved through suitability analysis. In this study, we used Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) conduct for "Bizim Şehir (Our City) Project" in Konya. We evaluated six factors: soil characteristics, geology, disasters, aspect, slope, property status. Thematic maps were each factor using GIS then standardized. Next, determined percentages affecting AHP method. Finally, integrated spatial capability according predetermined weight produce The results showed 54.9% case area was suitable development. study proposes method designing sustainable living
